National Service Scheme unit of N.H.Goel World School organised an Orientation Session on 08/07/2023 for students of grade-11 & 12 in the presence of Vice-Principal, Program Officer, Alumni of N.S.S. unit of the school, and senior teachers.
Program Officer- Ms. Sakshi Kahar conducted this session to make students aware of the program- N.S.S. along with its objectives, motto, concept and origin. She also explained the hierarchy of National Service Scheme to students in order to make them understand the reporting relationship and involvement of various central and state departments in the working and governing of N.S.S. All types of activities of N.S.S.- cleanliness drive, awareness campaign, tree plantation, medical check-up camps, cattle check-up camps, village surveys, donation activity and many other social service activities and their organisation and execution were explained to students through this session.
Alumnus of batch 2014, Ginny Menghani Makhija, shared her journey of being introduced to N.S.S. She has been actively associated with social service since her school days and later started an N.G.O. to contribute towards the society. She is a successful entrepreneur and still involves herself as and when possible with bringing a positive change in the society.
Alumnus of batch 2017, Aayush Mishra, a civil services aspirant, shared his journey of life that how N.S.S paved the path for his career aspiration. He guided students with the knowledge of importance of N.S.S in college entrance examinations and further in career. He also shared some real life examples where being a part of N.S.S. helped him understand the community and society closer.
Vice Principal- Dr. Awinash Pandey gave a brief insight of how working at ground level will help students understand the root problems of society. He threw light on the areas like- what challenges students may face during working at ground and rural level, and how these challenges can be turned into opportunities of understanding the society in a better perspective.
Students had a take away of great experiences and real life stories of social issues. They were highly motivated and pledged to be a part of N.S.S and learn to contribute to society with their efforts and labour voluntarily.
